The Abyssinian is a fantastic breed. They are super intense in everything they do. The way they play, they way they give affection and the way they treat humans. They are real personality's, sometimes a little arrogant but always extremely elegant in how they handle themselves.
Overall they are more intelligent than other cat breeds and attach themselves more to humans than to other cats or pets. She have a soft voice and are very curious. It's a breed for the true cat connaisseur.
The Abyssinian has an elegant appearance, agile and muscular with an average built. The Aby has a unique ticking coat. Ticking means that every strand of hair has 2 or 3 'rings'. The coat is short, fine and close, lying flat. The most seen colors are ruddy and sorrel, but there are also blue, fawn, chocolate, lilac and silver Abyssinians.
The head has soft contours. A medium wedge shape. A soft curve of the nose o the forehead and a firm chin. The ears are big, wide placed and broad at the base. They are rounded off at the tip and have a so called 'wild spot'. A big plus is ear tufts (although you hardly see those anymore). The eyes are radiant, big and almond shaped with a deep yellow, green or hazelnut color. They are outlined with the colour of the ticking.
By the markings on the head the cat gets the typical 'Aby Look'. The legs are tall, slender and in proportion to the body.
